The shipping cost for fudge will go up Nov. 11
The price of sending fudge from The Fudge Factory will go up $1 on Nov. 11, because the U. S. Postal Service raised it’s shipping prices in July. The USPS raised the cost for standard mail parcels by 23 percent to help close the gap in the budget for its projected income for the 2011 fiscal year. Since USPS raised its shipping costs, The Fudge Factory must as well. The Fudge Factory has actually been losing money by not raising the shipping cost sooner. Sheri Erfourth, The Fudge Factory owner, made the decision not to raise them sooner. Since Black Friday and the store’s busy season is just around the corner, the time has come to raise the price. “We hope that it doesn’t inconvenience the customers, but it has to be done,” Erfourth said. The Fudge Factory is a family-owned business at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, Fla. The business has been making its own fudge the old-fashioned way, with no preservatives or additives, only cream, sugar, Hershey’s Baking Cocoa and other natural ingredients since 1988. The business carries 14 flavors. The fudge does not need refrigeration and does not melt. The Fudge Factory offers its fudge in store or online at floridafudgefactory.com or by phone at 1-800-257-4571 or 727-934-8196.
